WHAT IS PNEUMA?

In Scripture the word 'Pneuma' is a Greek word that translates into 'Spirit', or more specifically 'Holy Spirit', the 'Breath of God'.

At Living Hope, Pneuma began on Pentecost Sunday 2021 in what was originally planned as a standalone teaching on the Holy Spirit. God had other plans! Across seven weeks Pneuma grew into a powerful series (available below) exploring Biblically the spiritual gifts and how they apply to us today.

Now Pneuma continues as an evening of prophetic worship where we don’t just talk about the Holy Spirit, but actively pursue the manifest presence of God. You may be asking "what is prophetic worship?" It's actually what worship is all about as we gather in the presence of God and seek his voice. Andrew Holt, Worship Pastor of The Belonging Co. aptly explains:

"Prophetic worship is being sensitive to what The Holy Spirit is doing or saying in a particular moment and then giving voice to it. It’s an opportunity to declare the promises and truths of who God is into the atmosphere so that people can receive and proclaim those specific things over their lives and circumstance. Prophetic worship causes hope, faith, and expectation to rise as a group of people come into agreement with who God is and how He is moving."

As we gather for Pneuma we will be learning about and actively pursuing the gifts of the Holy Spirit in a safe and Biblical manner. This is a time for those who are hungry for more of what God has for them.

Note: Pneuma is currently on hiatus as of March 29, 2022.
